Sunday, January 13, 2013 Unknown

The DTM, or the German Touring Car Masters series, has again selected the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG as its official safety car for 2013. The C63 AMG returns with a tweaked 6.3-liter V-8 engine, producing 487 horsepower and 600 Nm (nearly 443 pound-feet of torque). The safety car also has unique exterior features that distinguish it from its production counterpart. A DTM safety car logo can be found on the hood and along the doors, while the LED light bar on the roof and flashing stroboscopic LEDs in the headlights and taillights make the car visible to the competitors. Enlarged openings in the front bumper, a carbon fiber decklid spoiler and carbon fiber mirrors complete the safety car’s look.
