It's about as nice as they come. Open top touring at its best in the new Volkswagen Eos.

Model Update
One of the newest additions from Volkswagen is the Volkswagen Eos model. Very much a cabriolet version of a Volkswagen Golf, the sharp styling and smiling performance draws plenty of attention, indeed. Recently given an update in the car’s design, the polished new detailing provides a greater sense of sophistication and grace.
The cleverly designed glass roof, which incorporates a sunroof, looks awesome up or down. And the sporty bodywork, when matched to the low profile twin-spoked alloys, makes it one of the most eye-catching small sports-cars on the road.
Like the GTi Golf, the Volkswagen Eos has the 155 kW petrol engine under the hood. This six-speed power-plant has the goods to deliver some gob-smacking performance. And the chassis is every bit up to the task. Punchy diesel power is available on the form of the Volkswagen Eos 103TDI.
Bet your bottom dollar that the Volkswagen Eos is extremely well equipped, and delightful to drive.
Voted the "Goddess of Sun" by USA Today, the Volkswagen Eos may be just that. It is a fun and sporty vehicle with a hard-top roof that also folds back to reveal a dashing, exotic convertible.
Two versions of the Volkswagen Eos are available, and it’s probably just as easy to describe them on the basis of engine. With probably one of the best 2.0 litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engines on the market, and no apparent turbo lag, the Eos 155TSI has 155 kW of muscle that provides enough scoot to put plenty of smiles on the enthusiastic driver’s face. Even this powerful petrol engine can deliver some pretty good fuel economy figures. On average you are looking at averaging a commendable 7.8-litres/100 km.
Looking, now, at the Volkswagen Eos 103TDI, and what you have here is a very efficient 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel motor. Fuel economy, on average, is superb (5.9 litres/100 km). I love the surge of the turbocharged 320 Nm of torque. It leaves you desiring more of the same grunty performance. The diesel offers so much flexibility, and makes driving relaxed and swift.
Both models come with the six-speed DSG transmission. What is a DSG gearbox? DSG is a manual gearbox in which the gearshifts are controlled electronically, and the gear change only takes 3-4 100ths of a second to engage. What you’ll find is that there is virtually no interruption to power, traction or acceleration.
Roadholding is grippy, and the chassis always feels balanced and in control. The Volkwagen Eos promises to delight the driving enthusiast with a lovely blend of responsive engine power and top-class handling. Adaptive Chassis Control electronically adjusts the damper characteristics for each wheel, ensuring you feel the difference. You have, at the touch of a button, Sport, Comfort and Normal settings. Traction Control (EDL, ASR and ESP) and Braking Control (Brake Assist, ABS and EBD) give the Eos superb grip for the demanding driver.
With seating for four, the Volkswagen Eos delivers its occupants with travel that is both very comfortable and stylish. Front bucket seats are supportive and they envelope the body very snugly. When the climate cools, you have the ability to switch your front seats to their heating option. Finding your best driving position is a breeze as the driver's seat is six-way or eight-way power adjustable to allow, and the fit is just right for nearly any driver. The front passenger isn’t going to miss out on the same level of comfort, so your wife/hubby won’t complain. The front passenger seat comes as either six-way or eight-way adjustable, too.
Both the Volkswagen Eos 155TSI and 103TDI come with a powered roof that boasts a sunroof, a refrigerated glove box, climate control with air filter and air conditioning, under seat rear heat ducts, an Am/FM audio system with Sirius Satellite radio and either an in-dash mounted single or six-disc MP3 compatible stereo with amplifier and steering wheel controls. Your Eos has an easy to use cruise control function, power door locks, electric windows, electric mirrors and the option of a top satellite navigation system.
If you want everything, then you can buy the options list, too. Here are some of the goodies. The optional sport package includes Vicenza 18-inch alloy wheels with self-sealing mobility tyres, dark tinted LED optical fibre tail lights and Adaptive Chassis Control. Adaptive Chassis Control is always active and constantly makes adjustments to the vehicle’s ride and handling. How about the best sounds? A Dynaudio premium audio system delivers superb sound quality with 600 W of power, a 10-channel amplifier and ten speakers. Also, the Dynaudio system is available in conjunction with either the RCD510 in-car entertainment system or the optional RNS510 Satellite Navigation System.
Safety features on both Volkswagen Eos variants include rain detecting wipers, parking distance control, heated front wipers, a Homelink wireless control system, ABS (Anti-lock brakes), front driver and passenger side airbags, occupancy sensors in the seats, head protection for the driver and passenger and a security system. There is plenty more, as well.
If you want a vehicle that will definitely turn heads every time you drop the roof, then the Volkswagen Eos is just the vehicle for you.
