I’m not sure which design brief entered the Volkswagen designers’ minds
first, but both the open top tourers : the Volkswagen EOS and the Volkswagen
Passat CC, are beautiful cars.
Quite a lot larger, the Passat CC offers more room and more power. Add
up all the style, features and performance, and my conclusion is that you get an
awful lot of car for your money.
Look out for the Passat CC V6 FSI. This is an AWD model boasting 220 kW
of power, and with all paws grabbing at the ground you move exceptionally
swiftly. The Passat CC 125 TDI offers the buyer a frugal and punchy diesel
option.
Perhaps the only drawback is that the CC will only seat four, however
the feature list is stacked with goodies, and the quality of the vehicle is
outstanding.
The ingredients are right, and the looks are
striking. Like an athlete poised in the blocks ready for the race, is the
Volkswagen Passat CC. Every line and every detail creates an attraction on the
eye. The Volkswagen Passat CC is a sharp looker, with the smooth lines through
the A to B to C pillars forming a sensational backdrop to the angular nose and
aggressive headlights. And the grippy four-wheel-drive chassis sits on 19-inch
Sagitta alloys that have an elegant ten leaf spoke arrangement.
Volkswagen backs their products, and therefore offer a
very appealing 3 year/unlimited km warranty. Two models are available for the
sexy Coupe styled four door. The Volkswagen CC V6 FSI Coupe boasts the very
powerful 3.6 litre injected engine. The punchy 220 kW motor has a healthy 350 Nm
of torque that is instantaneous in response and capable of propelling the car
from a standstill to 100 km/h in a mere 5.6 seconds. A year or two ago, this was
considered stock entry requirements to super car territory.
What you may want is a strong performer that is fuel
efficient, so perhaps you and I could have a look over the very good Volkswagen
Passat CC 125TDI. We will experience the modern engineering behind the Passat CC
125TDI. This 2.0 litre common rail turbo diesel engine is a very clean
burner. A diesel particulate filter and super economy figures running through
direct fuel injection and turbo technology make for a refined motor that puts
out an inspiring 125 kW of power and which generates 350Nm of torque. The
six-speed automated DSG transmission allows for faultless gear-shifting. This is
no fat man at an athletics meet, either. Superb road holding and a smooth ride
create a drive that is amongst the best out there.
Slip into suave leather seats and you find the room,
and driving position, to be excellent. Build quality is outstanding and comfort
sublime. A high output CD sound system and lots of refinements make the cabin of
a Volkswagen Passat CC exceptional. The air-conditioning unit is a quiet
operator that quickly works to balance the cabin temperature to be pleasant for
all people seated inside the cabin. Sat nav technology is up there with the best
systems available for in-car orienteering games.
Is it safe? You bet ya! ANCAP testing gives the
Volkswagen Passat CC a score of five, which is the highest available - not
surprising when the car comes with ABS, ESP, ten airbags, traction control and
all-wheel-drive.
Even the V6 model comes in at under 90-K. There’s not
too much out there that can compete with it for exhilarating performance, flair,
luxuries and safety for the same price.
The current model series includes:
- Volkswagen CC V6 FSI
- Volkswagen Passat CC 125TDI
